Hii Jellyfish 🪼
How are you? I hope you are all doing fine 💫 I am back with an online collabrative writing task. I've worked with Sümeyya Ataş (as usual 😅) and Hayrünnisa Azbay. Normally we work in pairs but for this project we worked as a group of three. At first me and Sümeyya thought that we would not be able to find any group friend and even so we would not be able get along well (I do not know why but we thought like that) However, then we messaged to the classroom WhatsApp group and Hayrünnisa messaged us back. We were happy about her message to be honest 😆 We got along well through the process.
Now I want to talk about what was our topic for OCW. It was something serious this time
"Migration Issue in Turkiye". There were other topics that we can choose such as air pollution, climate change, or traffic jam. However we preferred to write about immigrants.
We used Padlet for our task. When I was in high school, one of my teachers taught us how to use Padlet, so it was easy to use it. There were some updates/changes in Padlet but we managed to overcome the issue. Personally I like Padlet alot. It is so easy to use and so good for collabrative writing. I would definetely teach my students how to use Padlet in the future.✨
Now I want to talk about the organization in our OCW. It is seperated into three sections "what we know, want to know, what we learned". In what we know section, as it is obvious by its name, we mentioned about what we know about immigrant issue in Turkiye. Since I like following the updates/issues in Turkish politics, immigrants is one of the topics that I know alot. I knew alot of information about the issue. However I needed to prove what I know about the topic is right, so I embedded some links in what we know section. Then each of us asked three question about the issue in want to know section. I think this part was kind of challenging because there were some questions I thought but then I relaized that they were not questions but like complaints. For example "Most of Turkish people want immigrants to go back but they vote for the party which promises to not to send immigrants back. Why do they do it?" 😑 But luckily I found questions which I can find answers about. Lastly in what we learned section we talked about the issue while we were trying to find answers to our questions. I have learned alot while I was trying to find ansers even though I thought I already knew alot.
Lastly I want to say that OCW was relatively easy to handle with because we have already had opinions about the topic and two of us (me and Sümeyya) like collabrative writing 😅 Even though Hayrünnisa said that she does not really like it, I think we did great job 🥰
Personally I really think that migration is a big issue in Turkiye. I cannot stop thinking about this issue through my daily life. What I hope is sending immigrants back to their countries and both us and them living happily in our own countries.
What do you think about migration issue in Turkiye?
Thank you for reading that much, don't hesitate to share your thoughts with me ✨
See you next time Jellyfish 🪼🩵
