Flipping the Teaching Method

How are you? I hope you are all doing fine. 💫

I came back with flipped teaching! Now, you may wonder, what is it? It is literally flipping the teaching method. Normally, the teacher teaches in the classroom, and the students do their homework at home. However, in flipped teaching, the teacher teaches the topic outside of the classroom with the help of videos, and the students do their homework and activities in the classroom.

It is such a fun way to learn for students because you can see your teacher in an untraditional way, and you do your homework with your friends. On the other hand, it is such a challenging job for the teacher to create the video. Our instructor, Dr. Gökçe, told us that she used to cry because of the technological problems she faced back then, and she had to record the video again and again. Now I can feel how she feels 🤧. However, the best part is that the teacher can use the video for a long time. The videos are such an authentic, long-lasting material to use.

Now I want to talk about our video. For this assignment, I have worked with Sümeyya Ataş and Servet Zayif as the last time. We had so many difficulties, to be honest. 😭 We made two videos, but we realised that our video is awful compared to our classmates. However, we did not give up and created such an excellent job 💫

Our video focuses on movie types. We tried to teach vocabularies related to movie types to 5th graders. We had even created a fun game for students to play after they learn the vocabularies. As I said before, it was the hardest assignment to deal with, but we never gave up, and we did it! ✨
